Christmas Themed

I hope everyone had a wonderful, happy, healthy Christmas filled with family, friends, cheer and memories.

With Christmas being yesterday, this week's post will be all Christmas themed.

1. When I lived at my parents’ house and when I was home from college, every Christmas Eve my brother, sister and I would watch the Santa Clause movie and read The Night Before Christmas together.

2. I love the ornament tradition my parents started when we moved into our house (1990). Every year we have gotten an ornament in our stocking that represents something we did that year. The year we learned to snowboard we got snowboarder ornaments, the year I got my driver’s license I got a girl with a license and keys, the year I graduated from college I got a girl in a cap in gown and the first year D and I were in our house we got a house ornament. D has been added to the ornament tradition as well and has gotten a hunter for the year he went moose hunting, he got a basketball coach for coaching (obvi), and a handyman this year for all the work around the house he's done.

3. I'm thankful for all the traditions D and I grew up with and for the traditions that carried over into our relationship/marriage and the new ones we're making together.

Thanksgiving Themed Triples

In honor of Thanksgiving I will give me tangent, what I love and thankful facts all about Thanksgiving.

1. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Always has been, always will be. Yes, even as a little kid. Christmas was awesome, but Thanksgiving was when my dads family got together and my grandparents came up. It was the best.

2. I love our family tradition of going around the table and everyone saying one thing they are thankful for this year. Its a nice way to really reflect on the past year and since there is usually close to 20 of us, come of the things people say are creative and funny.

3. I'm thankful to be able to spend Thanksgiving with so many of my family members that I don't get to see much. My brother and his girlfriend flew in from Colorado on Saturday night and my aunt, uncle and three cousins drove up from South Carolina.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. This year Derek and I traveled to Derby to spend the holiday with my family. This year that included 18 people, my mom and dad, my sister and her family, my brother, my dad's two brothers and their families and Derek and I.  Here are some pictures from the day.
