Thursdays Post

Today I'm thankful for ...

* My toe feeling better already
* The cool breeze coming through my bedroom window
* Being home
* A really nice weather forecast for this weekend (Hopefully they are right!)
* My shoes being delivered (even though I won't be able to wear them for a while)

Better later then never right?

WHAT I'M LOVING WEDNESDAY:

1. That this is our last night house/dog sitting. I'm ready to be home!
2. That my toe is feeling SO much better.
3. That the week is half over.
4. That the rain /thunderstorms weren't so bad tonight.
5. That the toe doctor was so nice and was ok with my nervousness, gross sweating (think pit stains - I even apologized for being so sweaty! haha) and incessant chatter during my appointment.
6. That I have an amazing friend who texted me through my first toe "viewing/cleaning/bandaging" and even wanted to see a picture with out the bandage! ha.

Tuesday = Fun

  1. I am not a morning person. I have a hard time getting and waking up. I don’t think I’ll ever be one of those people who gets up before the alarm, when it goes off, or after hitting snooze only once. I’m more of a 2 or 3 snooze kind of morning person.
  2. I love having a routine. I know what my day will look like (for the most part) and I find comfort in that. Being out of my routine throws me for a loop and I don’t like it.
  3. I haven’t worked out in 4 days and it hasn’t been good. After my last horrible run on Thursday I decided to give myself a few days to rest and see if it would help me get rid of my head cold and if it had any impact on my toe.  Well my head cold is still going strong 2 weeks later and my toe hurts worse. I’m going to do some kind of workout today and see what happens; if figure it can’t be any worse then how I’m feeling now.

Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday

1. I ended up on another round of the same antibiotics for my toe, but had to stop taking it because of the side effects I was having. Hopefully the foot doctor I see next week can fix my gross toe.

2. Certain songs make me think of certain people (a few examples)

"I'm Real" - My BIL L
"I'm in love with a stripper"  - Big Daddy
Anything Ke$ha - My brother
"Jesse's Girl / It wont be like this for long" - My dad
"God bless the broken road" - D

3. I used to be OBSESSED with the Phoenix Sun and Charles Barkley specifically. My grandparents used to clip out all the news paper articles on the team/him and mail them to me in large manila envelops. I had Phoenix Suns hats/shirts and wore them all the time. I did an autobiography book report on Charles Barkley in the 5th grade.

What hurts more?
The pain of harwork?
Or the pain of regret?

Number 14

ROCKSTAR MENTALITY: #14 -Get a car charger / player for ipod
I've always had a charger/player for my car, but when I got a newer generation ipod, it stopped charging. It wasn't a big deal, but slightly annoying because I had gotten used to that part.
Today at lunch I went to Best Buy and found a one that works with my current ipod and wasn't half a million dollars (I also got 20% at checkout - score!). I got it all set up and tried it out on my ride back to work. It charges and plays - I'm pretty happy :)

Today I am

Thankful for

- A quiet night last night.
- It being Thursday.
- The weekend almost being here.
- Not having to work this weekend.
- Having so accomplished so much on my work project this week.
- Spring finally being here (I hope).
- Having my long run for this week already done!

Loving

I love that

1. I got to text with my brother for a while today. I love catching up with him.

2. I was really productive at work today. Having such few distractions, and a red bull, probably didn't hurt.

3. I had such a great weekend at home with my family.

4. I got my long run done already ... even though I got really sick afterwords.

4. Even though I'm sick - I don't think I have / am getting strep throat.

Tuesday

Lets see ... what to tell you this week.

1. I love to read and buy books. I love seeing the books on my bookshelves :)

2. I'm addicted to gossip magazines. I usually buy almost all of them every other week! Ekk.

3. I love the smell of fresh cut grass and mulch.

Tuesday Tangents

- I remember where I was and what I was doing when my sister told me she was pregnant (both times).
- I hate having hair on the back of my neck - which is why my hair is usually pulled back some how.
- One of my most prized/valued possesions is my engament ring and wedding bands.

And you probably thought I was going to talk about actual socks :)

All Things Loved

Here is the short and sweet March edition of 'All Things Loved'

* GARMIN

I know I didn't need this expensive little running accessory, but I have to say, it might be one of the best things I've bought for running. Its so nice to go out for a run, look down and know how far you've gone, your mile time and overall time. Its so nice not having to try and map out a run online and figure out the distance and then figure out your per mile time. The first time I used the Garmin was in Arizona and loved it. I'm glad its finally starting to be nice enough to run outside at home. I've logged some quality time with this watch in the last two weeks! (I got mine on Heart Rate Monitor - Search for the Garmin 405x. They usually have a "sale" on them and have free (and fast) shipping.)
* BIC Headbands

I found this shop through Skinny Runner and purchased a headband as part of a friends birthday gift. When it came in I loved it and was jealous, so I had to go buy myself a couple too. I may have gone a little over board, but I've worn all the headbands at least once :) I like the mini ones, they are thin and sparkly and add a little fun to your outfits. I tried the thicker ones when working out and they worked really well. They stay in place and don't rip your hair out. the headbands are nice becuase they are tight enough that they stay in place but not to tight that they pinch your head and give you  headaches. And each month the shop picks a charity to donate $1 of the proceeds from each headband to. That's pretty cool.

* EOS

I have been seeing lots of ads for this brand in all my magazines lately. I'd heard of them before and since I'm addicted to chapstick, I figured I'd give them a try. I ordered a couple of the "egg" shaped kinds and two of the regular stick kinds. I LOVE THEM ALL and they are all over the house, my purse and one's in my desk at work. This chapstick is great becuase its thick but not to thick or gross, it has good flavors and it lasts a lot longer then most brands. Its nice for running beucase it stays on for so long you don't have to carry chapstick to reapply duirng your run (maybe this is just something I do?).
