All Things Loved – August

The things I have loved this past month is quite the assortment!

*Cake Batter Truffles. These are quick and easy to make & so hard to stay out of!

*ASICS GEL-Nimbus 13. I am loyal to ASICS running shoes and have only had that brand since I started running; they just fit perfectly. I was due for a new pair and saw and add for their new shoe in my running magazine so I thought I’d give them a try. That might have been the best (running) shoe purchase I’ve ever made. They are the most comfortable sneaker ever! I want to wear them all the time.

*Old Navy pajama pants. I bought a pair on a whim this weekend and loved them so much I went back and got two more pairs! They are the perfect length and they are warm but not to warm.

*Ripped in 30. I have only done this DVD 3 times this month but it is NO JOKE. Its only about a 20-25 minute video broken down into three circuits. I’m always sweating by the end of the first circuit (about 6 minutes in!)

*The Help. I know I am behind the ball on this one as a lot of people have already read this and some have even seen the movie. I’ve had the book since it came out, but I am just now getting to it. I don’t think I’m even 100 pages in yet and I already love it.

*Pinterest. Like everyone else, I have fallen into the Pinterest addiction. I’ve found great recipes (Cake Batter Truffles), craft projects (now I only need to become crafty), ideas for our house, quotes and sayings, exercises and fashion ideas. It is so easy for me to get sucked in and spend an hour on this site without realizing it.

What I love about Wednesdays.

This week I am loving the following - in no particular order:

  • Vanilla Bean ice cream with fresh raspberries on top.
  • The good night sleep I had last night.
  • A long weekend is coming up.
  • That our friends and family are safe after hurricane Irene came though this weekend.
  • I got to spend time with my cousin and aunt (from Virginia – who I haven’t seen since our wedding) last week.
  • And of course, my husband.

Its really only Tuesday?

Since it really is Tuesday (and I was a complete slacker last week) here's my triple tangents:

1. I have a "reverse freckle" (at least that's why my mom calls it) on my leg. No matter how tan I get, there is always a perfect white circle around the freckle.

2. I signed up to run the Vermont State Police 5k. I ran this race last year - it was my first ever 5k. I'm excited to run it again.

3. Fors ome reason it was really hard to come up with 2 things about myself this week. And I was to lazy to go back to list of things I have for times like this.  Oh well, you can't win them all.

Thankful Thursday

Like the uber creative post title for today?!  This week I am thankful for the following:

* My cake ball truffles were fun and easy to make and everyone seemed to like them.
* A healthy baby boy for our cousin and her husband.
* My health.
* That its Thursday (one step closer to the weekend and vacation.)
* The extra sleep I got this morning (even if it was because I forgot to reset my alarm).

House Progress, Part VIII

Another week, another update. The builders are working so hard and its amazing how much changes in just a few days. We went up tonight and got a few pictures of the newest step - the roof! I didn't take a ton of pictures, because they would all look alike but here are the ones I did take.

 ROOF!

Its a wonderful thing

These are the things I'm loving this week...

* That A got engaged last night!  (Yay! Congratulations A & M - so excited and happy for you guys!)

* A fun dinner date with my friend K last night.

* This time next week we'll be boarding a plane to Myrtle Beach.

* I've had two great (back to back) days of workouts.

* We're going to the house tonight and get to see all the progress they've made since last week.

* The recipes I found for Cake Ball Truffles, Mini Pumpkin Pie bites and White Chocolate Brownies. I'm going to attempt a Martha Stewart day this weekend and make some of these things - keep your fingers crossed I don't burn down the house and everything comes out edible!

Weddings on Tuesday?

I'm feeling a little nostalgic today and thought I'd make this week’s triple tangent about our wedding.

1. The only people that saw me in my wedding dress (or even pictures of me in the dress) until our wedding day were my mom and sister. That was something special for the three of us, it meant a lot to me keeping that detail private.

2. D's youth Pastor J married us and he really made our ceremony. He told personal stories about D and I as well as him and D. It was a good mix of personal, funny and serious all the while keeing it short and sweet! His wife K has an amazing voice and sang our first dance song. It meant a lot to us (especially D) to have them be such an important part of our wedding.

3. I was planning on doing a "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" (old - my parents wedding bands, new - my wedding dress, borrowed - my veil and a hair comb, blue - I was going to have my flowers wrapped in a light blue ribbon), but a few things changed and I ended up not really doing it. I had my something new and something borrowed, but I was to nervous something could happen to my parents wedding bands so I didn't have them wrapped into my flowers. My flowers ended up being wrapped in pink ribbon in honor of my grandmother. She was diagnosed with breast cancer that March and couldn't be at the wedding so it was my way of having her there with me.

Friday is the new Thursday

At least for this week's Thankful Thursday, since I missed it yesterday.

1. I'm thankful for time with my sister, BIL, niece and nephew yesterday.
2. I'm thankful I got up and did my morning workout.
3. I'm thankful today is finally Friday.
4. I'm thankful for a friend's healthy baby who was born this morning.
5. I'm thankful for my health.

House Progress, Part VII

(I love that the titles for these posts only change in number. I don't even have to attempt and failing at coming up with a creative title!)

We went up to the house today and these are the newest pictures! Everything is coming together so fast. I can't believe it.

CAD Pictures

One of the people working on the design aspect of the house emailed us some CAD pictures of our kitchen that I thought I'd share.

This is the "above" view of the island and sink area's.
The bottom of the picture is where our pantry & additional cabinets/counter will be.

A front view of the island (as if you're standing at the sink facing it).

This is the view from the stove.

On the left hand side will be our pantry.
The doorway leads to the mudroom I believe.

That’s Amore!

My “What I’m loving Wednesday” list is quite random today, but it’s still awesome!

  • The kick butt workout I had yesterday morning and afternoon. I pushed myself and while I feel it a little today, I’m glad I did and proud that I did.
  • The picture of my niece on my calendar. She’s on a ride at Santa’s Village and she is SO excited. The smile on her face and the look in her eyes always makes me smile and fall in love with her even more. (And miss her more, too.)
  • The conversation I had with the lovely Ms P this morning. She talked me away from the “evil machine” and from prolonging reaching my goals. Thank you pretty lady!!
  • My text chat with the wonderful Ms R. She is awesome and I love that a few simple text’s back and forth to each other can turn our whole days around – for the better.
  • This time in two weeks we’ll be heading to Myrtle Beach for vacation and celebrating 6 years together and our 1st year of marriage.
  • And of course, I love my husband!

Welcome to my Tuesday

Another Tuesday, another 3 random facts about me:

- I love 'to do' lists and make one everyday.

- My first concert was the Beach Boys - Uncle Jesse from Full House was the drummer!

- Last night I painted my nails "Turquoise & Caicos". I didn't do the best job, but from a distance it doesn't look to bad!

House Progress, Part VI

A nice healthy combination of being busy and straight up lazy have kept me from posting the house update pictures we took on Thursday (8/4/110 until now. But here they are:

Front of the house - 2nd floor is going up!

Standing in the kitchen - we have a ceiling!

 Window in our master closet.

(Back of the house) bedroom windows (I think)

God Bless The Broken Road

I love this guy. He makes me so happy. I'm very lucky to get to spend the rest of my life with him.

The things that make me Thankful

... At least some of the things since last Thursday.

v     Being able to wear jeans and enjoy a treat for making a donation to the food drive.
v     Red Bull. I know I’ve done this one before, but with starting early morning workouts and sometimes afternoon workouts too, I need it to get through the day.
v     Seeing the results of my early morning workouts. It makes it just a little easier to get up so early because of it.
v     Text Messaging. It lets me keep in touch with family and friends when a phone call isn’t possible.
v     Watching TV and binging on candy with a friend.
v     The books I ordered from B & N finally arriving. (*B&N has the best customer service. I ordered some books about five weeks ago and they were transferred to the local Post Office for them to deliver and they mysteriously disappeared. But the Post Office didn’t loose them? When I called B&N they had my order reshipped, and free of cost, that day!)

How sweet it is to be loved by you …

Happy Wednesday, we are officially half way through the week.  Here’s what I love since last Wednesday’s post:

  • The time I got to spend with my family this weekend.
  • Chatting with my step MIL,
  • The Nike Training Center app I downloaded.
  • How listening to DMX and 50 Cent made my day end on a happy note yesterday.
  • My crazy ice cream topping concoctions – strawberries, cookie dough and the third topping is always a mix up – crushed cookies, Butterfinger, M&M’s … (And this can only be enjoyed at Al’s as they are the only one with real good toppings around here!)

Uncreativity at its best.

I can't really think of any interesting tangent ideas for today, so I'm pulling from a list I came up with a while ago. Here are my previous thought of triple tangents for this Tuesday.

1. I wanted to get married in the same month we started dating so our anniversary month would be the same.

2. I have a special bond with my dad's grandparents, they are more then just grandparents to me.

3.I've had a wide range of jobs: babysitting, ice cream shop, a financial planning office, a hardware store, Abercrombie Kids, a bar, Things Remembered, an insurance office, a law firm and now my present job.
