All Things Loved

Octobers edition of all the things I really loved:

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
These are the best doughnuts I've ever had. The first time I tried one was in San Fran on a weekend trip with my grandparents. My grandfather and I went out in search of a store around 1030 at night when he found out I'd never had one. I was hooked after one bite. We went twice while we were in MB (I easily could have gone every day) and my doughnut of choice was the glazed raspberry. Its a raspberry filled donughnut but instead of sugar on top, its glazed. And they are always warm. I wish I could have one right now.

Converse All Stars.
When we were waiting in the airport, I saw a girl with a pair of low top Converse All Stars. I told D that I thought I wanted a pair in a cute/fun color. When we were on vacation, we stopped at a Tanger Outlet and they had a Converse store so we went in. D really wanted me to get a pair of laceless ones. I wasn't sure how I felt about them. I tried on a pair and instantly loved them. I got a navy blue pair - so not a cute/fun color but more practical which is good since I've been wearing them a lot!

Erin Condren planner
I got this planner back in August and I love it; which is good because its an expensive planner. Its a serious planner, with thick/heavy paper with cute sayings, designs and colors. There are stickers in the back to mark things like appointments, weddings, date nights, birthdays and blank ones so you can make your own, lined paper, a little folder and a cute zippered "pouch" to store things. You get to pick the cover design (there are so many to choose from) and you can personalize it (your name, your family name, business name ect). When you get your planner it comes with  some address lables (with the same cover design and whatever personalization you choose) and coupons for future purchases I will definatly be getting another planner from here next year. (I got the design below in teal and brown.)

CHI Hair straightener
I know I have straight hair, but I still have a hair straightener. I usually just buy a cheaper one since I don't have curly hair, but have always coveted a CHI straightener. I finally broke down and bought one a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It only takes a few minutes to work all the kinks and creases out of my hair now! With other straighteners it would take 10-15 minutes (at least). Plus my hair has less fly-aways and is smoother and shinier with the CHI.

Balances

This week I am thankful for:

Being busy at work. The days go by so much faster when I have something to do all day.

Being pro-active. Most of my Christmas shopping is done and I only have a few more things to get. I love being so ahead of the ball this year. It will come in handy with moving, Thanksgiving and basketball season just around the corner.

Dinner with my SIL tonight. Its been way to long since we've gotten together, just the two of us. I'm looking forward to our date!

My leave balances or for me not touching them, so I’m able to use them when I need to without worrying. (doctor appointments, college roommates in town, moving, holidays, family in town ect)

M coming to town tomorrow. Which also means a short work day for me!

Reunited and it feels so good

What I love this week:

I love that in two days there will be a 209 reunion. I’ll be spending the weekend with my two college besties!! It’s been over a year since the three of us got together – which is way to long.

I love how much progress will be made on our house this week. Carpet installed, tile grouted and appliances delivered (and probably other stuff). It’s coming along so fast!

I love that we were able to spend time with family and friends AND relax this weekend. It was a nice balance and we needed some time to relax with how busy we’ve been lately.

That today is M&J's 2 year and 1 month wedding anniversary and today is mine & D's 1 year and 4 month wedding anniversary. M&J got married 9/26/09 and 9 months later, 6/26/10, D&I got married <3

Lifetime Clips

This week's triple tangent -

  1. The last time I dressed up for Halloween was probably 3 years ago for a work competition and before that had to be my freshman or sophomore year of college. I just don’t get into dressing up.
  2. I know 5 people with birthdays in October; four are family.
  3. I am obsessed with the J Crew hair clips. They are expensive for a clip but they have a lifetime warranty. Meaning it anything happens to it (like it breaks) you can bring it into a store and they will give you a brand new one; free!

Insider Circle

BECAUSE I LOVE YOU: #6 – Renew a magazine subscription.

I renewed D’s ESPN the Magazine subscription this morning. I was stealth like last night when I saw the notice in the mail and just slipped it in my purse; he never saw it. What he doesn’t know (or won’t until he reads this) is that because he’s part of “the insider circle” (along with everyone and their brother) or something, he gets a sweet EPSN backpack; which I totally checked that he wanted! I know he’s going to be so excited ;)

Two words, two T's

Thankful Thursday.

I'm thankful we picked out all the faucets, lights and our sink last night. It was not exactly a quick process (almost 2 1/2 hours), but its done and we don't have to think or worry about that stuff anymore .... well hopefully anyway. With our track record of picking things out, you never know.
I'm thankful for a low key weekend coming up (at least as of now). We've been so busy every weekend, or awhile, it will be nice to have no real plans.

I'm thankful for my amazing family and friends. Even if I don't talk to them or see them much as I'd like, I'm thankful for them.

I'm thankful to finally be celebrating the pretty miss H's birthday tonight! We're only 2 weeks late.

Four letters

Love. It's four letters. What I'm loving this week is....

- I think this cold is on it's last leg and I'm feeling much better.

- that I got to spend time with my family on Saturday. It was a long day for a short trip, but seeing my parents, sister, BIL, niece and nephew and celebrating S's 4th birthday was worth it.

- The new key on my ring and the garage door opener in my car :)

TTT

This weeks random facts:

1. Im a stomach sleeper, with the left side of my face on the pillow. I usually can't fall asleep on my side or back, if I do, I don't stay that way for long.
2. I have a very big fear of heights. I had a hard time going up the stairs in our new house when they weren't permanent. I even cried a few times because of the fear. I have had panic attacks watching people near ledges or trying to climb down long/high staircases (I had one climbing down 600 stair of an arch in Paris, it wasn't pretty).

3. I never used to be able to fall asleep with music or the tv on. Now, because I fall asleep well before D while he watches TV, I need noise to fall asleep. The TV, the AC, a fan, something.

House Progress, Part IX

Its been awhile since I posted pictures of the house, but there wasn't much "visible" progress and then we were on vacation and I just haven't been good about posting pictures. Better late then never.

The front of the house.

 The front porch.

The garage doors!

Our front door.

The rock wall.
(It will go all the way down the driveway)

PERMANENT STAIRS!
(They will be carpeted but I'm so glad they are finally in!)

Hardwood floors.

Finished fireplace.

They've done all the painting downstairs and have started on the upstairs. These pictures were taken with my old camera and at night so the pictures of the paint didn't come out well so I didn't post them. When I have my better camera and we go up in better light, I'll take pictures of the rooms and colors and post them.

The south is awesome.

BECAUSE I LOVE YOU: #1 - Take a trip with Derek

As a 6 years together and 1 year of marriage anniversary present, D surprised me with a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! We were originally going to go at the end of August but because of Hurricane Irene, we had to reschedule and we went from October 5th through the 10th. We had amazing weather, it was high 70's or low 80's every day. We spent time at the beach and/or pool everyday. We did a lot  of stuff - Broadway at the Beach, mini golf, Pirates Voyage, Tanger Outlets (shopping) and so many other things. We didn't get a lot of pictures of the two of us, but here are some of the pictures from our trip.

The aquarium at Broadway at the beach

The view from our balcony

The pool we spent our time at

This show was so much fun!

The mini golf place. D got a hole in one and I got robbed - twice.

This is where our food adventure pictures start - we didn't take a lot of pictures of the two of us because it was much more important that we take pictures of some of the places we ate!

This place is like an old fashion shop, its neat and the servings are HUGE.

We had breakfast here one day. It was so good!

We might have gone here more then once! Best doughnuts ever.

Another place we visited more the once :)

We had lunch here one day.

We had lunch here a few times so D could get his fix.

We had dinner here on our last night.

Proof that we were on this vacation! (Bad proof, but its the only one we've got!)
